Meditation is the foundation for equanimity. A meditation practice will calm the mind and make it more resilient. This resilience helps you to bounce back from negative thoughts that arise from bad news, difficult encounters and stress. You will rest the mind during meditation which will in turn give you greater access to joy and positivity. When your stress goes down you can think better, solve problems with ease and reconnect with your creativity and your environment. Studies are showing meditation can help people manage symptoms of conditions such as:
• Chronic pain
• Heart disease
• High blood pressure
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Sleep problems
• Tension headaches
Meditating on your own is often a struggle. Our mind will tell us all sorts of great stories about why we should not sit around and do nothing. Working with a group and a teacher helps to counteract the creativity of the ego! In this intensive we will meet for a full week to practice together. Then we meet less often but you will continue to practice on your own using the audio recordings from the first week. When we get together in week 2, 3 and 4 you will have time to share your challenges and experiences. This is a very beneficial part of practicing in a group. You will find commonality within your cohort. All sessions will be recorded so you can join in the intensive when it is best for you. If you can join in real time, great! If not, you will still have access to ask questions and share experiences through email and Slack. You will still be a part of the Sangha even if you are not on the call.
The investment for each session is $300. If you choose to do both will be $575.
Please email the studio if you are interested in participating.
Sessions will meet 7:30-8:30 am, except Sundays. We will meet at 7:15 on Sundays.
